Marina Abramovic has been a phenomena since her last performance in MoMA. I thought this movie would bring me gloomy mood but surprisingly it's rather a feel good movie instead. Aside of all her artistic madness, it's interesting to see how she struggled and survived being forever different from the rest of other people. The way she touched the heart of a lot of people on her performance, The Artist Is Present, simply by staring at their eyes is like something beyond rational and a distinctive achievement in performing art.
Rem Koolhaas has been a huge name in the industry and has been known by his architectural writing but only from this film I learned that he previously worked in film and journalism. I'll always be forever regretful to the fact that I study and work in the field of architecture because it's a very "complex" industry that require a limitless amount of your time and thoughts daily and also a whole lot of struggle. But on the other hand I will also be forever grateful upon it, because of its complexity architecture has taught me so much more than just buildings, brick and mortar, but has sure infused me with different perspective on how I "see" things.
