first time i saw the trailer of the biographical movie of this author last year, i hated it. it felt overly exaggerated accompanied with unnecessary dramatized sound effect. i found it rather disrespectful to an author known for his reclusiveness from the spotlight. now that i've actually watched the movie, i still find that the film is unnecessary. beside the quality itself that i don't favor (it's full of repeated imageries and clichés. plus it ends with coldplay's strawberry swing, duh.), the man is too big to be fit in a short two hours film. while it might be nice to see some images, i think whatever related to salinger would be better to be discovered in text, in reading.
however, now i'm preparing myself to reread all of his books in anticipation of the newest publications (details on glass and caufield family!) that might be coming out in 2015.
