one particular thing about zagreb that stands out is of course the museum of broken relationships. it became the main place i had to visit soon i found out about it. at first in my head i thought it would be a quirky place with lots of pop art decorations, maybe with lots of typical crazy artistic art piece that would be "hard to digest". but it turn out to be a nice modern museum with clean minimalist interior. the display was well organized in categories. it displays objects submitted by people from all around the world of a thing that remains as a token that reminds them of their past broken relationship. each object comes with its description about the love story behind it. i have to say it has to be the most relatable museum ever. everyone has their own love story and we can relate ourselves to some of the stories there. after finishing the tour, it's almost like reading a book of short stories. it's like you're filled with such wonderful melancholy, specially if you have coffee on the museum café that plays some nice melancholic songs. it used to be a traveling exhibition but now it found its home here in zagreb. you can imagine how many submission they received and i think it will always rotating, the objects that get to be displayed.
aside from the museum, i don't really have a special impression on the city, but it's a pleasant city to walk on and i have a lot of wonderful photos of it. we were there early december. it was nicely foggy with the atmosphere of advent. full of nice christmas decoration and there was a stage with choir and traditional dance performance for advent celebration on the main square where i counted myself ticking officially from 28 to 29 of age, feeling blessed of getting this far, standing on places i've never before imagined i would be.
