reminiscence bump

after reading so many raves about this supposedly documentary, i finally took time to watch it. personally i wouldn't put it as a documentary cause it's obviously staged, as the director himself admitted, but it pretty much portrays the real life of youth in this generation we like to called millennial, in the context of poland political situation (which i'm not familiar with).

without a clear plot or storyline, with its breathtaking cinematography and good music, which i enjoyed almost all of them, it takes us deep into each scene, following the two young guys roaming around the city of warsaw at night. although i was raised in a completely different youth culture, and i haven't been to warsaw, it's pretty easy to relate to each character and it reminds you of all your own questions you asked on your younger age.

i remember when i was on my last year of my twenty-something of age roaming the streets of milan and paris, i thought to myself how grateful i was that youth has finally come to an end. not that i didn't enjoy my younger years, but it's like i've been through so much and have achieved a lot, and i was grateful for all of them. and it was time to gracefully step on another level of life with much more confident and much less care about what other people think. but then here we are somewhat a year later, here i am still pretty much clueless about a lot of things, about life, about myself. but if there's one thing this movie has assured me even more is that, when life feels shitty, put on some good tunes on your ears, it gives you that tiny bit of shot of energy needed to keep on going. at least it works for me, most of the time.
