i don't know why but budapest had always been the city where i wanted to go travel solo. it's like there are certain charm of the city that made you want to wander around and feeling safe by yourself. and somehow, for half of my journey here in the city, i wandered around solo, although technically i wasn't really traveling solo.
my first night here i wandered around the city walking freezing myself out of the -10 degree winter which i swear it said the real feel was like -20 or something. and i remember i spent a good 30 minutes in the middle of the night calling a friend 1.500km far away in front of my door totally losing sense of my hands and my feet. the next morning was as cold and i found myself at the fisherman bastion (first photo), again freezing myself out and ended up dropping my camera and broke it.
the next thing i know was what felt like movie scenes to me having arguments at the iconic chain bridge all the way walking along the riverbanks up until the parliament building to the city. i have to say i was rather good at multitasking, trying to take photos while mending up arguments in my head and spit them all out.
two lessons learnt from budapest. first, it feels way way better traveling solo than with a wrong person or a wrong crowd. second, traveling in the dead of winter could be a little challenging but i'm totally into it. when it's with the right person, traveling on winter feels way more rewarding to me rather than any kind of traveling on summer.
