seeing the pictures i took in kraków reminds me of how my diet during the trip in this side europe consists mostly of meat. different kinds of meat and sausages. other than that we had a lot of chimney cakes and pierogi and hot wines. all of those stuffs you can get from the christmas market. i remember as soon as i came back to italy, all i wanted to eat is fruit and vegetarian things. no meat. not even chicken.
when we're planning the trip to poland we did have some time trying to decide whether we should go to warsaw or to kraków. in the end i was glad we chose kraków because it was just when we're on the train we realized we could actually go to auschwitz. so our trip in this city was actually cut short because we spent a day in auschwitz. it was not a well-planned trip i have to say.
anyhow kraków was a nice city with beautiful old town. i really wished i could enter the schindler factory, still regarding the world war ii thing. but we managed to go to mocak, the museum of contemporary art. i don't know why all these contemporary art museums around the world now feels the need to came up with this short acronym imitating the great moma in new york. like in milan there is mudec, museo delle culture. duh. well, blame my creaky memory and my fault for losing the habit of keeping a travel journal, i don't have much impression left about this city now some eight months after the actual trip. but it was a trip well spent.
